Roland
Fajilan
Music has always been a part of Roland’s life. As a young
man he sang with several acapella groups/choirs and played guitar
and bass for a number of bands. His love for music eventually landed
him at Expression Center for New Media where he graduated in 2003
with a degree in Sound Arts. Straight out of college Roland became
the live sound engineer for SoVoSo, a renowned bay area acapella
group. With SoVoSo, Roland has had the opportunity to travel the
world and a number of states all over the US. He has extensive experience
working in live sound with many bands including Agualibre, Glasshouse,
and Destani Wolfe. Roland has also been the sound designer for the
past 3 years for Tandy Beal’s circus rendition of Tchaikovsky’s
“Nutcracker.” To further expand his knowledge of the
industry, Roland tried his hand in Marketing, where he promoted
for companies like Nike, TVT records, and Paramount Pictures.
In 2004 Roland started his own live sound company (Earshot), then
began working for 17 Hertz in 2005. Roland is currently the Co-owner
of the studio. Here he has recorded, mixed, and mastered for some
of the top R&B/Rap artists in the Bay Area, such as
Kaz Kyzah and Dem Hoodstarz.
